Deep Bite - or Overbite - is when the upper front teeth cover the lower front teeth excessively.

Why correct it? 3 good reasons:

1) The front and top surfaces of the lower front teeth can wear down and fracture more easily long term

2) In severe deep bites, the lower teeth can strip the gums away from the back of the upper teeth and create sores on the palate

3) Correcting the overcrowding of the lower front teeth usually requires opening the bite to create space for alignment.
