Facts:

The canine is the 2nd most commonly impacted tooth (wisdom teeth are #1)

Causes?

Genetics, lack of space, abnormal positioning of tooth germ

Twice as likely in the upper jaw than in the lower jaw

Typical age of canine eruption is 10-12 years

Once Impacted:

you have to Surgically Exposure and Guide the tooth into the mouth

If detected early, your dentist and orthodontist can take easy steps (like removal of baby teeth, space maintenance or palate expander) to lessen or even prevent impacted teeth!
